Welcome
Effective Couples and Individual Therapy
Oakland, California
Hello there - my name is Helen, and I offer evidence-based treatment for individual & couples online and in-person near Piedmont Ave, Oakland.
April 2026 - I am currently offering sliding scale ($50-$200) for couples who are willing to have their sessions recorded as part of a certification (training) process for myself. Please chat with me if you're interested!
My work is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and grounded in psychodynamic theory training, relational group work, and liberation psychology practice. Fit between client and therapist is one of the most important factors in successful treatment; I invite you to read a bit about what I do and, if it seems like we could be a good fit, click here to schedule a free 15 minute video/phone consult. I am highly skilled in working with high acuity conditions (borderline personality disorder, suicidal ideation, self-harm, complex PTSD, etc). I am deeply relational, curious, and enjoy exploring and adventuring, which is reflected in the attentive and inclusive way I work as a therapist. At the same time, I am organized and structured, and am highly motivated to guide you in consistently working towards your treatment goals. If something is new to both of us, I am committed to learning and growing with you - as a team. I work with all those who seek better mental health, and especially welcome those who identify as immigrant, BIPOC, and/or queer.
I am affiliated with the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA), where I currently serve as a board member of the Group Foundation. I also currently work as a clinical supervisor at Kaiser Permanente.
I received my bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University (2014) and my MSW from Smith College's School for Social Work (2019).
